Maeve's Story:
"I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again" ~ Mahatma Gandhi
I initially disregarded the Nicaragua trip, though I earnestly wanted to go, because of the cost. The application date passed on a Friday. I was a little dejected, remembering that there was an expected capacity for the trip and that all the spots were most likely filled. On that Saturday morning, however, I spoke with my brother Trevor, who agreed to sponsor my trip. I called the director, hesitant to be excited, who told me that there was one spot left!
I think that I was made able to go on this trip for a reason. I am so looking forward to helping the people of Fabretto, but I think we will get just as much in return. Personally, I look forward to returning with a richer, more understanding world-view and a greater sense of self-knowledge. These gifts and the memory of this soon-to-be-life-changing trip will remain with me as I attempt to determine my life-path and the best way that I can make a difference!
*Donations will go to the remaining cost of the Nicaragua Service Trip in addition to outside costs such as immunizations, passport fees, supplies. etc. and anything above my goal will go to Fabretto!
