Hello Family and Friends!
It may not come as a surprise that I will be spending a part of my Winter Break in Nicaragua participating in a mission trip with Northwestern's Sheil Catholic Center. This will be my third consecutive trip and second time as a student leader. I continue to be called by God back to this beautiful place filled with beautiful people. Every time I go back, I am blown away by His grace (see the image on the left), and I come home a different person. We spend most of the trip volunteering with the Fabretto Children's Foundation and building up their enrichment facilities in the village of Cusmapa (the highest altitude village in Nicaragua!). We also interact with the children of Cusmapa a lot, since they don't have school that time of year. It is an incredibly enriching experience, giving me a priceless opportunity to grow in faith and leadership and be (literally) closer to God. I am so thankful to have one more chance to go back as an undergrad, and I look forward to sharing this experience with you!
The cost for this year's trip is $1,900 per person. Many of our students would not be able to make the trip without the help of our fundraising efforts. Your financial contribution is greatly appreciated! The money first goes to pay for our trip expenses. Any additional money will be given to Fabretto to support their programs in Nicaragua. Thank you for your generous support!
Que Dios te bendiga (God bless),
Abbey
