Hello family and friends!
I'm happy to say that I will be back in the village of Cusmapa, Nicaragua for another service-immersion experience with Northwestern's Sheil Catholic Center during the first part of winter break this year. We will be working with the Father Fabretto Foundation to improve opportunities for children and families in Cusmapa. I went on the trip last year as a sophomore hoping to grow deeper in faith, enhance my Spanish skills, and get learn about the culture of Nicaragua. Suffice to say, I achieved all of that and more. That's why I could not be more excited to return to Nicaragua as one of the trip's two student leaders. I look forward to interacting with the people of Cusmapa and with the breathtaking Nicaraguan scenery (which you can see for yourself in the video on this page!), while deepening my leadership skills and my faith.
The cost for this year's trip is $1,900 per person. Many of our students would not be able to make the trip without the help of our fundraising efforts. Your financial contribution is greatly appreciated! The money first goes to pay for our trip expenses. Any additional money will be given to Fabretto to support their programs in Nicaragua. Thank you for your generous support!
Love,
Abbey
