As a small faith community missioned from Sheil, we look to build relationships with the people at the border, with those who serve them, and with one another. We intend to look, listen and engage the real situation of those living at the border, as well as those seeking to cross the border. In our daily reflections, we will reflect on the principles of Catholic Social Teaching and share how the experience is challenging and encouraging our growth in faith. We will seek to love those that we meet and love one another in Christ. This is a "learning-service trip" we will learn from the people that we meet and with whom we collaborate. We will be changed by our time at the border, and hopefully will be Catholics with an enlivened faith upon our return.

Hi there! Thank you very much for visiting this page :) 

I am Rachel Tseng, and I am a senior at Northwestern. To cut the long story short, this will be my first every mission/service trip and I am extremely humbled to be given this opportunity to learn more about how we can help those in need in the community. I am confident that this trip will help all of us deepen our spiritual faith, and I look forward to building relationships with the people around me. This is our first time to the border in Arizona, and thus I am excited to be the first group of people from Sheil to travel there to learn more about the immigration situation, and how we can help our brothers and sisters in Christ. Hopefully the work that we do and the details that we learn will contribute to a foundation in which future generations will be able to build on.

Donations are greatly appreciated not just to help fund the trip for all the participants, but to also support Sheil Catholic Center!
